Yesterday, we drove into St. Catharines to the Penn Centre - very nice, big mall only about 10 minutes from home. We saw an advertisement from Lenscrafters for 50% off all lenses and Bern needed to get his prescription for new glasses filled. We weren't that happy with the double-talk we got there. Sure the lenses were 1/2 price, but then you had to add on this and that and the other thing, so we decided to look around a bit more. We went to Sears Optical and had a nice chat with the salesperson there - still not too sure. Then, on our way back to the car we noticed another optical place and went in there for a comparison. Well, we were completely blown away by the information, care and personable staff. The price was a little more, but we both felt comfortable with the glasses he's getting.
On the way home, we stopped in at the car dealership to talk to the service department. My car has developed a little hesitation in its giddy-up, so we will take the car in on Monday for a little check-up. Today, Bern mixed up some of the leftover paint we had from painting the family room and living room. He came up with a lovely shade of soft green. He wasn't too sure he liked it until I told him it kind of looked like camoflage green!! He started painting his office and got half of it finished.
Our neighbours, Dave & Bev, are coming over in a few minutes for coffee and cake and to watch the HOCKEY GAME! Now, I KNOW we live in Welland! Imagine watching hockey on Saturday night - can't get more Canadian than that!!! (unless you throw in beer and chicken wings, that is!)
Tomorrow we're planning to go to church! We haven't been all summer and we're both really looking forward to getting back there.
