It's our girl's birthday today and we wish her the most wonderful day!
An update from Herman - Herman called this morning to say the reason we haven't been able to get in touch with them is because Judy's been in the hospital since last Sunday. She started bleeding from the procedure site. Also, it seems she's developed a blood clot in her abdomen which is restricting blood supply. She has suffered from thrombosis for years and now her legs have blown up like sausages. He says they've been given differing prognoses depending on who they're talking to. One says they'll just make her as comfortable as they can and then the next one says they will start chemo treatment, but not until the 21st of April. He also says it's so hard to get to talk to a doctor - you have to just happen to be in the room when they do their rounds. He says she might be able to go home on Monday, though, so that's good.
I had a lovely surprise in the mail yesterday! Brad and Nev sent me a beautiful get well card and a book to read while I recover. Sweet, huh?
We had a nice day today - it was sunny, but cold. We drove to Port Colborne so Bern could buy his turkey license and some arrow heads. After stopping at a Jeep dealership to drool over the newest models (Bern drooled, I just shivered in the cold), we went for lunch, then came home in time to watch the Master's - it's going to be exciting tomorrow!
Penny called to say she misses us, so we called back to say we miss her, too! We're all excited that Brenda and Robin are coming to visit in June and will try to coordinate visiting times and places.
Next weekend the girls are coming out. They're planning to be here by 11:00 a.m. on Saturday and will stay until Sunday afternoon. We might just play cards all weekend - or we might watch movies all weekend - or we might just do nothing. It really doesn't matter - it will be fun! Bern is going up to Ray's cottage for a few days since Shirley is going away with her girlfriends to a quilting convention in Kentucky.
