We had a great time at the BBQ. Everybody brought homemade goodies and Bern helped by barbequing hotdogs, hamburgers and shrimps on skewers - yummy. It was very windy all day, but by about 5:00, the wind had died down and the sky lightened a bit. All the neighbours on the court started showing up with lawn chairs, food and coolers full of drinks. We got to meet everyone, which was wonderful. Okay, so the women are young and skinny - but very nice anyway. Bern seemed to get along with all the guys - talking about hunting and fishing, etc. I totally like Sheila and Lynn the best. Sheila is Stew's little Philippino wife (a real little firecracker!) and Lynn is married to John. She's in the picture with Sheila serving up ice cream cones to the kids. I'm planning to start up scrapbooking classes in the Fall - Lynn and Sheila are already interested.
Anyway, we ate our supper before the rain started. Umbrellas came out and it looked like the gallery at a rainy golfing tournament! Sheila invited everybody to her house and the kids all jumped into the pool - they were wet anyway. We stayed for about an hour then said our goodbyes to everybody and came home. We'll finish up laundry tomorrow and pack for our trip on Monday. TWO MORE SLEEPS!!!
