Tuesday morning, we woke to horrendous thunder and torrential rains! It sounded like bombs dropping. We got packed up and cleaned the cottage getting ready to go home. We decided to go over to see John and Maureen. We hadn't seen them for awhile so it was nice to catch up on family news.
We got up early on Wednesday, loaded up the truck and came home. We stopped in Huntsville for breakfast. On the way home, we stopped in to see Howard for half an hour. He has the most amazing collection of paintings (many Batemans). He and Penny are going to Sudbury for a 40th wedding anniversary party for one of Howard's cousins.
We got to Oakville in time for my hair appointment and then went to visit James and Emily. They got back from the Bahamas on Sunday. They had lots of pictures to share - what a beautiful place! James got to swim with sharks - yes, that's what I said. These are the things you don't tell your mother until after the fact! Anyway, they had an awesome time.
We need more prayers for my friend, Karleen. Her medication has been increased and she's feeling awful, she was very tearful tonight on the phone. As you know, she has stage 4 cancer as well as Hepatitis C which they are trying to control with interferon treatment which will take a year to complete. No wonder she's depressed as well as being sick all the time. So, please keep her in your prayers.
We talked to Brent today. He and Tammy have moved into a new apartment together and are busy painting and unpacking boxes. They sound very happy. Brent will teach for another year and then decide his next steps. He's very comfortable there and likes the fact that the taxes are so low there. Anyway, I hope he'll decide to come back to Canada to live - selfish of me, I know. We're looking forward to their visit in September!!!
Bern's going fishing tomorrow for a few days and Fran and Jan are coming here - YAHOO!
