After a nice cup of tea and chat (Pen loved her invitations), Brad, Nev and baby Bella Noelle arrived loaded down with all the essentials for a traveling baby! I'd forgotten that part. It was so good to see them. The baby is adorable! We got a chance to hold her and cuddle her - it was very special. They loved the little pink blanket, hat and scarf I made for her. She will have to wait a while to wear the hat. Right now, she could use it as a sleeping bag!
My favorite part of the day, however, was getting to have some one-on-one time with Nev. There always seems to be so much activity any time we're together, but this time we had a lovely talk while Bella nursed and then fell asleep. It was lovely! Nev, if you're reading this - I love you, sweet girl.
We had a beautiful dinner of salad, lasagna and garlic toast. Penny made a lemon pie to die for. It was amazing! She always worries that the pastry won't be as good as mine - but, this surpassed mine. Way to go!
After the kids left, we got down to real business - that is, Hand and Foot. Penny and Howard teamed up against Bern and me. The first two hands, we couldn't get a card to save our souls! We made a valiant come-back attempt with the last two hands, but they were too far ahead. We'll get them today, though!
Here are some pictures of our day yesterday:
