I can't believe all this rain! Mom and I went over to the mall today - she wanted to get her hair cut - and when we were ready to come home, we looked outside and could hardly see our car for the rain! There was a tornado sighted just to the northwest of us - Bern said he saw it, too, but didn't think to get out the camera. Needless to say, Mom and I stayed at the mall for awhile until things settled down. Oh, Mom's hair looks great, too.
We booked her flight home for Sunday, September 7th, so we're in for a nice, long visit. Brent called while we were out yesterday and talked to his Dad. Apparently, he and Tammy will be coming up to the cottage on September 4th, so we'll be able to spend a day or two with them before we come back here to get Mom packed up to go home. At least she'll be able to see Brent and meet Tammy. Brent was also telling his Dad that his MasterCard was compromised to the tune of $1000 by some scammer in Montreal. He got a lot of flak from MC when he tried to explain that he couldn't have charged $1000 in Montreal since he lives in Taiwan! They acted like he was lying, so he has to fill in a bunch of papers when he gets here in order for them to nullify the charge. Sure makes things difficult when your depending on your charge card for a long trip to Canada!!!
We got some wonderful news from Penny the other day...Brad and Nev are pregnant!!! Yahoo! They've been trying for a long time and are delighted. We're just waiting to hear if it's a boy or girl. I was looking at yarn today, but will wait to see if I'll need pink or blue! The baby is due in December - what a Christmas this will be!
