Good time was had by all!

We had a really great day, starting with warm, emotional hugs all around! The most precious news of the day was that Fran was diagnosed last Wednesday as CANCER FREE! Thank you all so much for your prayers for her amazing recovery. James is much too thin....does every parent think that when their kids leave the cozy, comfy kitchens of their childhood? Emily says the apartment is like a sauna - it's on the 8th floor and has no air conditioning - maybe that's where his weight has gone. Anyway, we had a good visit - he and his grandmother were very happy to see each other.

After a huge supper of steak, potato salad, spinach/berry salad and pie for dessert (with ice cream, of course), we went outside to play a little volleyball - what a hoot! Needless to say, there wasn't too much volleying going on between us seniors. Of course, when Heather and Emily got hold of the ball, things started to look like an actual game for a few seconds. It was fun, though, and nobody went into cardiac arrest - thank Heavens!Completely exhausted, we all came in to watch "The Bucket List". What a great movie. It stars Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman as a couple of terminal cancer patients who decide to go on a "living" spree before they die. It's very funny and poignant. Fran, Mike and Heather had to leave before the movie ended since they had the hour-drive back home and were pretty tired out. James and Emily stayed over and then Brian and Sarah came by to pick them up this morning to go to Marineland in Niagara Falls.

All in all, it was a great weekend. Mom and I are sitting quietly watching the Seattle Mariners cream the Toronto Blue Jays on TV. Bern is trying to find the source of a basement leak. I hear all kinds of banging and sawing going on....I don't really want to know what he's doing!
