Do prayers work? Yes!

Just got an update from Jackie about her husband.

Hi there, Just an update on Jim. He went and seen his Dr. yesterday, blood pressure was taken and it was 130/70 which took Dr. by surprise. She had another shock when she weighed him. 2 weeks ago at the kidney specialist he weighed 281 now he is down to 266. Lots of salads, fish and chicken. He starts insulin today. The nurse will give him his lessons then he begins with a dose each nite at 7:00 p.m. Will have to play with the unit am't till he gets the sugar under 7. Much better than taking all those pills. Hopefully it will stay the kidney function for quite a while. His goal will be another 50 lbs. and will forever stay on this diet. Seems to work good. LOL

So, thank you all for remembering Jimmy in your prayers!

Here's a scrapbook page I did of a camping trip we did with Jim and Jackie when Brent was only 14 and James was about 18 months old. The place we camped at was spectacularly beautiful.

And, I can't help myself - here's another Bella page!

I talked to James yesterday and he said his eye is slightly improved. He's still putting in the antibiotic cream. We were trying to work out when we will get to see him for his birthday on Saturday, but he's made plans to spend it with some of his buddies. We may drive to Oakville on Sunday and take him out for dinner, but we'll have to watch the weather.

How about our Canadian ice dance team???? Beautiful or what? Too bad about the men's hockey, though - from the Canadian point of view, that is. The Canadian women's hockey team are still in the running for a gold medal.

I don't know if any of you have heard of a woman by the name of Sue Augustine, but she gave a talk this morning at our Christian Women's meeting. What a great speaker! She is also an author. Her talk was all about leaving your past behind you. Her book is called, "When Your Past Is Hurting Your Present - Getting Beyond Fears That Hold You Back". I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her talk about her journey! If you're interested, you can google her or go to www.harvesthousepublishers.com/books_nonfictionbook.cfm?ProductID=6915370

Well, that's it for now.
