Back home again

We got to Massey around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. It was so good to see Jackie. I've been so worried about her - but, once I saw her I felt better. Remember me asking for prayers for her? She had total kidney failure as the result of taking prescription blood pressure medication. Her kidney function is now almost back to normal, thank God! Wednesday was her birthday, so we celebrated by going to Espanola shopping (not our usual shopping trip because the guys were with us - but, better than nothing!) and then to lunch at the local Chinese food restaurant.

On the way back, we stopped in to visit Wayne and Lise. Their house is coming along beautifully! They bought an old farm with an old farm house and barn on it. They are completely renovating it and it looks amazing! We will be staying with them when we go up for the Lachance family reunion on the August 1st long weekend.

Jackie's grandchildren came over later in the evening with their parents. They brought her a lovely tree for her garden - one that she'd been looking at for a long time!

After everyone went home, Jackie and I walked uptown to rent a couple of movies: Body of Lies with Leonardo DeCaprio and Russel Crow (for the guys) and a chick flick for us called "Leap Year" (very cute!). All in all, we had a wonderful visit.

This morning, Wayne and Lise treated us to breakfast before we started for home. Then, we stopped in Sudbury for a couple of hours to see Ted and Lynn. They prepared a wonderful lunch for us and are planning to come to Welland in August to stay with us for a few days.

We got home finally - after supper at Boston Pizza. The guy who was supposed to start building our deck on Monday called tonight to inform us we needed a building permit from the town before he can start. Bern asked him to provide a drawing to take in on Monday. Hopefully, there won't be too much of a delay! I hope we don't regret taking the lowest bidder - cheaper isn't always better!!! We'll see.
