Well, we have one week to go until we move. James is in his own apartment and seems to be happy, if not a little lonely. He's been without telephone, cable, and internet for 3 days and has SURVIVED! Imagine that! Anyway, the Cogeco guy comes tonight so all will be well with the world again. We went over to visit and Bern went out and bought us Burger King for supper. The cable guys arrived just as we were leaving. James called us with his new phone number - YAHOO, he's in touch with the world again.
My friend, Fran, underwent surgery today. Heather, her daughter, called to let us know Fran was home and resting. We'll get together next week before we move. Please put her in your prayers for a speedy recovery.
We went out this morning to change addresses on drivers' licenses and health cards. The satellite installation is set up for the 17th, our new telephone number is set up, the gas and water heater rental is ready to go. There's no high-speed internet in the newer area of Welland where we're going, so we have to use Sympatico Unplugged. Apparently, any electrical plug accesses the internet through a modem attached to your computer, so I have to arrange for a modem to be delivered to the new house.
We're going down to Welland on Monday to meet with our lawyer there to sign final papers. From there, we will go to Welland Hydro to sign a contract with them. Then over to City Hall to arrange tax payments. WHEW! Packing boxes is the easy part!!!
