Sneak attack worked!

Bern and Wade got their turkey the other day. Wade actually shot the thing, so Bern is planning to go hunting again around here in the next few days. Here's a picture of the critter.

The funniest thing happened at church this morning. We celebrated children's ministries today and after they handed out the AWANA awards and singing some rousing songs, Pastor Rene stepped up to the pulpit and smacked it with his hand! "Got it", he shouted. "It was a spider! It's dead!" Bern shouted out, "That was one of God's creatures!" Well, the whole congregation broke up laughing. Rene said, "OK, let's get serious...we'll pray for the spider's family...(hilarious laughing now)...but, we're not going to pray for healing. I don't want that spider back!" So funny!

Christine and I went to the all-day scrapbooking event yesterday. We had such a good time. I got eight pages done! Very pleased! Chris got twelve pages completed, so she was really happy, too. We couldn't believe how fast the day went. At noon, they catered in a wonderful lunch - chicken wraps and salad and then at 3:00 p.m., they served up ice cream sandwiches.

How about this beautiful picture of my little great niece, Joey. She's my niece Cassie's little girl.
Another little great niece, Hudson, turned 1 last week. She's a little cutie, too, huh? She's my nephew, Ben and his wife, Nahal's baby girl. They live in Tampa.

I have a special request. My dear mother, who faithfully prays for every single person I ask her for, needs some prayers. She's in constant pain - maybe it's just because she's almost 88 years old! Plus, she lives in a house that's crumbling around her, slowly but consistently. Her basement flooded the other day and she had to get help to remove 2 inches of water. Could you please offer up some prayers on her behalf? Thank you so, so much!!!
