Another day of pleasure would have just been too much, right?! Bern came home Friday instead of Saturday - they got a moose early in the week, but stayed on until Friday. He was pretty tired out - poor old guy - but, he had a good time anyway.
I met up with an old friend yesterday for lunch. She lives in Toronto and we worked together for years at Right Management. Lynne has always loved this neck of the woods, so we met up in Niagara-on-the-Lake and had lunch at the Irish Harp Pub. It was great to catch up on what we've been doing since leaving work and on our growing families. She loved my scrapbook pages of Brent and Tammy's wedding and I loved her little videos of her 2-year-old grand daughter, Emily.
Here are some prayer updates and requests:
Dawn - my friend diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease - is starting on a new medication and is praying, along with us, that is works and doesn't cause problematic side effects. This girl is only in her mid-50's so this diagnosis has been earth shattering for her and her family - yes, she is one of the most spirit-filled people I know. And, she's funny and so very sweet! My mother and Dawn hit it off as soon as they met and I know they email each other.
Karleen - my friend with Stage 4 lymphoma and who's been in remission for the past year - had a car accident which has triggered the cancer to bloom again. She's decided not to do chemo and is relying on homeopathic medicines, which seem to be working. The doctor has reported that her tumours are shrinking! Praise the Lord! She asked me to pass on her "thank you" to all who pray for her. She is humbled by your kindness and asks that we don't refer to the "cancer" by name, but pray for her "health".
Bern is in the kitchen making his famous spaghetti sauce - yummy! We're planning to take some north with us next weekend. However, we will diligently check the weather reports before we go, since there were snow flurries last week where the guys were hunting - and that's cross country from where we'll be driving.
