Brent just sent this video and, of course, I just HAVE to share it! We have only 10 more sleeps until we start our journey to Taiwan. Can't wait to cuddle this little bundle of happiness!
We had some sad news the other day. Our friend, Herman called to tell us that the elderly couple who had the cottage behind ours, had a tragic accident. Al passed away from carbon monoxide poisoning in his sleep and his wife, Lynn was rushed to hospital and put into a decompression chamber to try to get oxygen into her tissues. This is so, so sad. Al was such a wonderful person and his wife is just the sweetest little lady. We would often go over for tea or they would come by for tea and pie. Mom got to know them on her visits to Canada. Here's a picture of us all together in 2007 (with Herman and Judy, who passed away a couple of years ago from colon cancer). RIP, Al.
Happy news is that my new Permanent Resident Card arrived in the mail on Friday! We know that everything happens for a reason, right? We weren't sure what the reason was until Bern woke up on Sunday morning with a plugged ear! That wouldn't have been too nice if we'd been on an airplane for 16 hours and if he'd tried to equalize pressure in his ears when landing and couldn't!!! He went to the doctor on Tuesday (Monday was a holiday) and she said that BOTH his ears are blocked! Hubby will be fine by the time we leave for Taiwan on the 14th. God is so good! Amen?
