Street party success!

What started out as a potential disaster - rain and wind - turned into a wonderful neighbourhood street BBQ....an annual tradition we've been pleased to be a part of these past three years! There were hotdogs, hamburgers, shish-kabobs, many salads and desserts - plus chips, salsa, and fruit and veggie trays! Once supper was finished, Bert mentioned that all we needed was a campfire - and voila! our neighbour John went over and got his portable fire pit and set it up in the circle, lit the fire and we toasted marshmallows! The kids had a ball, too!

There's been lots of renovation activity in our little court this summer (including ours, of course) - backyard decks and patios - so, part of the evening consisted of tours around each others spaces to ooohs and ahhhhs and wonderful ideas. Bern now wants a fire pit for our backyard. John and Jen made a lovely little stone patio in one corner of their yard. They have a couple of nice chairs they sit in in the evenings from which to enjoy their wood fireplace. So, another project! Here are a few pictures of our lovely time with friends.
