Lutchy's 70th birthday party

Bless her heart, our Lutchy turned 70 - this is a woman who wasn't supposed to survive at birth and then wasn't supposed to survive her teens, and then wasn't supposed to survive....well, you get the picture! She's spent her whole life in a wheel chair, and has limited physical function, but she is the sweetest, most intelligent, and kindest person I've ever met. Plus, she has a sense of humour second to none! We got to see relatives we haven't seen for years and some I'd only heard about and had never met. So, it was a lovely afternoon. Here are a few "moments" of the day.
Bern, Luciene (Lutchy) and me

Desi (she unexpectedly lost her mom, Lil earlier this year)

Penny, Lutchy and Howard

Lise, Wayne, Claudette and her daughter Jessica, and Melrose

Pauline and Dennis

Andre (Jocelyn's husband), me and Dennis

Wayne, Juanita, Lise, me, Penny, Jocelyn and Howard

Betty Ann, her daughter Carmen and me

Betty Ann, Bern and Carmen
Before we went to Lutchy's party on Saturday, we stayed with Ted and Lynn in Sudbury. Of course, we ate like pigs!! At some point, I'm going to have to deal with getting back in shape! They're planning to return the visit in a couple of weeks.

Guess what? I'm getting my pool!!!! It will be an above ground model but will be 18 by 33 feet - a monster! And, Bern is having the deck attached to it so you don't have to climb up a ladder to get in - yahoo! Inside the pool will be actual stairs. The contractors are coming next week to measure! Now, this will happen if my husband doesn't get cold feet - but, for right now - it's a go. Our friend Herman came to visit today and he gave us some tips on extending the deck - he's a carpenter. We offered him a nice guest room and lots of food if he comes back to help!!!!!!!!!
